Self introduction I am conducting research in the field of zooarchaeology, which involves the analysis of animal bones (faunal remains) excavated from archaeological sites. I am interested in the time and regional differences in the exploitation of faunal resources during the Jomon period in eastern Japan, and the time and regional differences in the production and utilization of horses during the historical period in eastern Japan. I am currently analyzing the various traces left on the faunal remains when they were butchered, and attempting to reconstruct animal butchering techniques through experiments.
