| Self introduction | I specialize in scientific research and conservation of archeological cultural properties. I am particularly interested in metallic objects and how humans have developed metal processing techniques. In recent years, I’ve conducted joint scientific research on metal artifacts in Georgia, Iran, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Japan. I’m also providing professional education to overseas conservators and conducting joint conservation projects. I’ve worked with experts in Armenia, Egypt, Iran, Georgia, and Kyrgyzstan. I hope to continue to collaborate with experts around the world to conduct scientific research and conservation to help preserve cultural properties for future generations while revealing their value. |
| Message to students | You are uncomfortable with scientific investigations based on physics and chemistry, and with conservation that involves the use of various chemicals and mechanical equipment. However, more than half of the conservation scientists currently active in the field come from liberal arts backgrounds. Scientific investigation often can reveal new important values in even well-known cultural properties. In conservation treatments, deteriorated objects are changed into their original shape, and new discoveries are sometimes made. I hope that you will get such kind of good experience in my field. |
